Student shoppers invited to late night fun at Cascades ‘Lock-In’

Students are being encouraged to register for the Lock-In event at Cascades, giving them the chance to take advantage of huge discounts whilst having a great night out.

Following the amazing success of previous student events, Cascades has organised an extra extravaganza for Thursday, 28th April - giving students the run of the centre as well as the chance to make some incredible savings.

“This is the first time we’ve held a student event in April,” said Cascades Centre Director Rhoda Joseph. “Our fresher’s week event continues to be a huge hit and is one of the highlights of our year. Following demand from retailers and students alike, we’ve teamed up with our tenants and some other local businesses to put together a second event which we hope will be just as successful.”

Registration is now open for the event, which, as with previous student events, will see Cascades opening ‘after hours’ exclusively for students, with live music and entertainment to keep everyone entertained from 6pm to 8pm.

“There will be a host of entertainment throughout the centre,” said Rhoda. “We’ve lined up a DJ and Primark will be having their own Star Wars themed photo booth.” Retailers will be offering a variety of one night only discounts and special offers for students, and there will be several surprises throughout the night.

“As with previous lock-ins, admission is totally free but students have to register beforehand” said Rhoda. “Our fresher’s event regularly attracts more than 2,000 shoppers so we’re expecting a big turnout on Thursday and it’s important that anyone wishing to come along has registered properly.”

The event is open to anyone over 16 who attends any college or university.  To register, visit www.studentlockin.com . Once details have been accepted, a confirmation e-mail will be sent which needs to be brought to the centre – together with student identification – on the night.

“Only people who have registered and bring their e-mail and student ID will be given their Lock-In wristband, which qualifies them for the deals and discounts throughout the centre.”

Rhoda said she was sure the event was going to be a fantastic success. “The student events are always a fun-filled evening and with the entertainment we have lined up and the discounts on offer, we’re really looking forward to this being another huge hit with students,” she said.
