Spinning up a storm to raise money for Tom

THESE young lads smashed their target to cycle the distance of Portsmouth to Newcastle for Blue Day and raised a massive £3,000 in honour of one of their closest friends.

Tim Green, 21, Paul Gamble, 21, Jon Jennings, 21 and Marc Tucker, 29, all from Southsea, set themselves the 600-mile challenge in a bid to raise money for the Tom Prince Cancer Trust.

Tim is on his bike for Blue Day 2011!

Tim Green is proud to announce his support for Blue Day 2011 through the Blue Day Cycle Challenge. On Saturday 6^th and Sunday 7^th May Tim and three friends will be holding a two day stationary endurance bike ride event in the Cascades Shopping Centre.

Portsmouth charities benefit from generous Cascades shoppers

A big thank you to all our shoppers whose generosity during December meant that a total of more than £7,000 was donated to a number of deserving local causes.

Marie Curie Cancer Care and Southsea Castle Rotary, together with local schools, treated us all to some beautiful carol singing, as did Portsmouth Association for the Blind, The Rowans Hospice and The Salvation Army. The Rowans Hospice also offered a popular gift-wrapping service, while fireman Stuart Vince from Cosham Fire Station collected sponsorship for his bike ride in aid of Queen Alexandra Hospital Children’s Ward. The Portsmouth & Southsea Rotary Club also visited the Centre, and Naomi House children’s hospice received a donation from a special teddy bear sale to celebrate Cascades’ 21^st birthday and from the wishing well appeal at Cascades Christmas grotto.

A cheque for £619 was presented by Rhoda Joseph, Centre Director of Cascades Shopping Centre to Hilary Jukes and Mary Rochford from the Naomi House Children’s Hospice.

Cascades Shopping Centre presents another winner for their 21st birthday celebrations! (May 2010)

This month saw Mrs Dee Hewitt of Denmead picked out from hundreds of entries for Cascades Shopping Centre’s monthly 21st Birthday prize draw.
